The Redemptorist Archives invites the general public to its annual open house, October 17, 2023 as part of Archives Month Philly. Archive tours throughout the day will be combined with a special exhibit on Redemptorist military chaplains. The chaplain papers comprise one of the largest collections of its kind in the United States. Since the days of the Civil War, the Redemptorists have been serving men and women in uniform, both in time of war and peace. For this exhibit we will highlight a Civil War chaplain’s diary, the “Yank Club” newsletters, Lieutenant Lawrence Lynch (KIA, Okinawa), and more. Ample parking is available across from our offices at 1039 N. Lawrence Street in Philadelphia, directly across from the St. John Neumann Shrine.
