The Digital Archivists of Philadelphia, an informal community of Philadelphia-area archivists interested in preserving and providing access to born-digital archival collections, are proud to present our first Archives Month event! Join us virtually via Zoom on October 7th at 3pm for a talk by Bill Degnan from the Kennett Classic vintage computing hobbyist group and research library. Bill will explain the floppy disk archiving process and cover what you need to know to archive any diskette from a vintage computing hobbyist perspective. Bring any questions you may have, as there will be time for Q&A at the end of the presentation. A basic understanding of computers is assumed, but you do not need to be a digital archivist to attend! This virtual event is open to all.

If you can’t make the event, but are interested in being a part of Philly’s professional born digital archiving community, join our Google Group to share resources and stay informed about our quarterly events: https://groups.google.com/g/digital-archivists-of-philadelphia.
