Caring For Your Church Collections
Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM (EDT)
Led by Margaret Jerrido, archivist at Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia, this workshop will present best practices for collecting, caring for, and organizing historical materials concerning churches and related organizations.

Program Schedule:
9:30am-10:00am: Registration
10:00am-12:00pm: “Archives 101” led by Margaret Jerrido.
*Free and open to the public, however preregistration is recommended.
12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch
1:00pm-3:00pm: Small, hands-on group sessions.
*Cost: $5 Delaware Historical Society members, $10 non-members.
Session 1-Roundtable on Developing Collections
Session 2-Basics of Photograph Preservation
Session 3-Basics of Document Preservation
Each session will be offered twice. Please sign up for the two you would like to attend. We encourage you to bring items from your own collections for discussion and preservation activity. Seating for these sessions is limited and early registration is required.
