As part of Archives Month Philly, please join the Historical Medical Library of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia for a special pop-up exhibit examining the history of herbal medicine in the West.
From the ancient Romans and Greeks to today, people have looked to plants for cure-alls, cold remedies, tumor treatments, and even poisons. “Poison or Panacea?” traces two well-known plants and their medicinal uses throughout the centuries. This exhibit features some of the loveliest herbals in the Library’s rare book collection.
This event is free, but registration is required. It’s also open house-style, so you can stop by anytime between 5:30pm-7:00pm! Soft drinks and light snacks will be served.
*The Mütter Museum will not be open during this event.*
