Come (virtually) behind the Girard College wall and enjoy Founder’s Hall and its remarkable archival and object collections, showcasing materials from Stephen Girard, one of the richest Americans of all time and the unprecedented school he endowed for disadvantaged youth. The live virtual tour will be held over Zoom and will feature a guided walk-through of Founder’s Hall at Girard College and its collections in real time within our 360-degree virtual tour, along with the opportunity for questions and discussion. The tour will be led by Director of Historical Resources, Kathy Haas, who will highlight many of the unique archival materials in the Founder’s Hall collection, ranging from hospital records from the 1793 yellow fever epidemic to photographs of the 1960s struggle to desegregate the school to menus of dining hall cuisine.
