Join us on the evening of October 12, 2023, to honor the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Katie Geneva Cannon, the first Black woman ordained in the Presbyterian Church and a founding voice in womanist theology.
Guests will hear about the impact of Cannon’s work and explore records digitized as part of the project.
Registration for this free event is required.
The Katie Geneva Cannon Digital Collection began in 2021 with the goal of having a single online repository for the personal records of the renowned theologian, ethicist, and educator.
In collaboration with The Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond and The Burke Library at Union Theological Seminary (Columbia University Libraries), the Presbyterian Historical Society has digitized 469 sermons, lectures, and writings of Cannon’s—all accessible through Pearl Digital Collections.
