Starting in 1852, Elwyn is the oldest running institution that serves individuals with intellectual and behavioral health challenges. Elwyn’s extensive archive holds documents, photographs, objects, and books that document not only the history of Elwyn, but the state of care provided to those within institutional care models.
Elwyn will be holding open houses through the month of October to anyone interested in viewing its collection. No appointment or registration needed. Reach out to Caitlin Angelone, archivist, at caitlin.angelone@elwyn.org if you have questions or need further assistance navigating our campus.
